10 Things Brides Forget To Do When Planning Their Weddings
Brides-to-be have enough to do and worry about, so it’s no surprise that one or more tasks on their to-do lists fall through the proverbial cracks. Check out 10 things brides forget to do when planning their weddings and make this fun (yet stressful!) time easier on yourself!
1. Bring Your Marriage License
Kind of essential in terms of “making it official,” remember to check with the jurisdiction where your ceremony is happening about any deadlines, blood tests and special documentation. For best results, start getting that stuff together sooner rather than later!
2. Vendor Meals
Don’t forget about the vendors! You need to feed the people helping make your day awesome, so be sure to include your vendor number when providing the caterer with your final list. They’ll work a lot better with full stomachs!
3. Favors
Yes, favors aren’t necessarily a requirement, but they’re still a nice way to let everyone know you appreciate them attending your wedding. Start thinking about what kind of favors you want at least two months prior to your nuptials.
4. Guestbook and Pens
Leave something out for your guests to write their well wishes to you, such as a coffee table book that goes with the theme or setting of your wedding. Get as creative as you want!
5. Cake Knife and Toasting Flutes
Whether you purchase your own, use your parents’ or receive these items as a gift at your bridal shower, don’t forget to bring these items to the reception location. If possible, keep them in their original packaging to avoid breakage.
6. Invitation Suite
Unless you don’t want your photographer to photograph your invitation suite, remember to pack all relevant stationary a few days before you wedding.
7. Tech Chargers
Charge everything before your wedding day–phones, iPods…you get the idea. In addition to ensuring everything is fully charged and ready to go, bring all chargers with you to your wedding venues as backup.
8. Passport and ID
Going on your honeymoon immediately after your wedding? Don’t forget your passport and other viable identification, such as your driver’s license. It will be hard to leave the country without them!
9. Thank-You Notes
This is an “after the wedding” must-have, and remember to send them out no later than two months after your wedding. A mere 15 minutes each day is enough to get them all done quickly.
10. Online Reviews
Another post-wedding must, be sure to write positive reviews of all caterers, photographers, florists, videographers and any other business that made your wedding day happen.
