This first bridal shower invitation template is a full color, 8.5 x 11 document that after printing, can be folded in thirds for mailing in a #10 envelope (4 1/8 x 9 ½ in). It has a tea party theme with pink daisy corner graphics and a teacup with yellow daisies. This invitation would look lovely printed on either white or cream-colored paper. If you’d like a slightly different look, you can use a different font. Other beautiful fonts available in MS Word are Bradley Hand, Edwardian Script, Fine Hand, French Script, Harrington, and Kunstler Script, to just name a few! Some of the fancier fonts (like Edwardian Script) can be difficult to read on a computer monitor, though, so you may want to finalize the text of the invitation before you start working with the fonts.
With a little web-surfing, you can also find free graphics and pictures to use in the invitation if you want more visual punch. Or, you or an artsy friend can provide some of your own photographs, or draw some graphics yourself. Here are some more ideas:
- Insert a humorous photo of the bride and her wedding party, wearing big hats and sipping tea, with their pinkies visibly extended out.
- If the bride has already picked her colors for the wedding, the font color could be changed to reflect those colors. If her colors do not include pink, blue, or yellow, you can use the black and white version of this invitation and simply change the font colors.
- Add a love poem. Add pictures or graphics of cookies, fancy tea sandwiches or a full tea service setting.
The second bridal shower invitation template has a culinary/kitchen theme, with graphics of a lidded ceramic pot, whisks, and measuring spoons. It also has a short, free-verse poem with a cooking theme. It should be printed out on 8.5 x 11 inch paper, and then cut in half, so the invitation is 5.5 x 8.5 in. This invitation can be folded in thirds and mailed in a small envelope, 3 5/8 x 6 ½ inches. It features two fonts, Freestyle Script and Enviro. Other fonts that would look good would be Bauhaus 93, Bickley Script, Comic Sans, Curlz, Verdana, or Vladimir Script. This invitation would look quite “tasty” printed on cream-colored paper. Here is a black and white version if you prefer to avoid the expense or trouble of color printing. It is often recommended that you print out a test copy to make sure the document formatting is good, before you print out the whole set of invitations.
This third bridal shower invitation template is the same size as the second template above. It also should be printed out on 8.5 x 11 inch paper, and then cut in half, so the invitation is 5.5 x 8.5 in. This invitation has a simple, elegant flower theme with the colors of blue, brown, and beige. The fonts shown in this invitation are Harrington and Agency FB. This invitation’s graphics have a modern, streamlined look, so other suitable fonts to use would be Abadi MT Condensed Light, Arial, Century Gothic, Enviro, Onyx, or Trebuchet, to name a few. Either the color version or the black and white shower invitation version would look sharp on white or ivory-colored paper.
Shower invitations need not be complicated or designed exclusively by a professional graphic artist.
