When it comes to planning a wedding, nothing is ever simple or straightforward. From the tiny details on the tables, to the table organisation and the decorations right across to the food menu. The things we have to consider can often spiral out of control and precise planning and organisation is more important than ever before. We’ve listed some of the main things to consider during your planning and a little bit of advice on tackling these.
Good location
It goes without saying that the wedding venue you hold your big day at can play a huge part on the overall success of the day. Whether you want to pick a location close to you, travel a bit of a distance or maybe even go further afield and pick an abroad wedding, not rushing into a decision is key to how you feel about your wedding venue choice. There’s no doubting this has the potential to be one of the biggest decisions you make during the planning process, we expect you will have to visit at least 5 or 6 locations before you find ‘the one’.
Buying the smaller bits
When it comes to table decorations and smaller bits and pieces the options out there are huge! With Pinterest at the forefront of all idea creations, make sure you set up a board and get tagging all the little bits you see. You may find that a bulk of the work can be handmade (or outsourced to your bridesmaids to save on time!). Be sure to check out places like Etsy and Not On the Highstreet for inspiration on some of the small products you may want to get your hands on.
Guest Lists
Potentially a controversial, and rather stressful time for all. The best way to tackle the guest list is by breaking down the basics. Have you spoke to this person recently? Are they a family member? Working out individually how much you both want a particular person at your wedding can really help you narrow the list down. Maybe you want to go down a low key route and only invite close family and friends to the event, that’s fine. Don’t stress yourself out thinking you have to have everyone you’ve ever met and a plus 1 there. It’s your big day and that’s all that matters!
Finally, whatever you do, enjoy the day!
