Hi Everyone,
I am helping my best friend plan her wedding – she is VERY set on the following colors – Grey, yellow (canary/butter) and cobalt blue. Her fiancee is absolutely SET on a grey suit, vest and yellow tie with a white shirt. The bridal party not including the bride and groom are six on each side. Now what should the colors for the bridal party be? I am completely lost and she is no better at figuring out what to do. HELP!

What a great friend you are! Now, let’s see: if the 3rd color of the wedding is cobalt blue, that’s the color the bridesmaids could be wearing. If you want some contrast, you can include yellow sash or yellow flower in their hair (or both!). For the groomsmen, I would go for a cobalt blue tie with the introduction of a touch of a yellow in their boutonierres. Good luck!

Irina – what color of suit do you recommend the groomsmen wear? They would like grey – but how does the groom stand out at that point? It has been suggested black -but then I think that doesnt look right?

Groomsmen and fathers wear the same suit as the groom. Groom can have different color accessories (tie, cumberbund, etc)

The Moderator is absolutely correct: the groomsmen should wear the same color – grey, but they should accentuate their accessories – the vest, the tie and the boutonierre with the different colors, to correspond with the colors of the bridesmaids’ dress.

Do you think the cobolt blue in the vest and tie be too overpowering with the grey? its not a very dark grey – this is what has me stumped…..

Have just the tie in cobalt blue; vest and tie will be too much!
