There is no such thing as a DIY wedding
DIY wedding means do it yourself wedding. The idea of DIY wedding is to have everything according to own choice, and completing the work and planning yourself, which can save time as well as money. It involves a lot of creativity in managing the plans of wedding. Through with this wedding people usually want to execute things in a non traditional manner. They generally arrange a small party and invite their close relatives and friends. The whole idea is to have marriage party at a low cost where people decorate the venue with flowers and various handmade decorative items. So you have to look for local vendors who charge less for preparations. But in a DIY wedding are still a lot of preparations to attend to, far too much for just one or two people to handle so help is imperative.
In order to keep budget costs down DIY weddings are normally planned with the help of friends and family. Most of the friends turning up for the wedding are mainly involved in several wedding related duties. From decorating to cooking, everything is a joint effort and not an individual involvement. The arrangement of tables, candles, matching curtains and lights are laid in many creative and unusual ways, mostly by friends of the couple and by the family. Together people generally take the responsibility of the kitchen and several items like drinks such as beer and wine, starters, main course and desserts that are served. It can be a lot to ask of a friend for this kind of help but most are very happy to help you as you may have helped them in the past or with their wedding. So it is common that they will return you the same favor. Not only do they help in wedding preparation but also in cleaning the mess up after the party is over. Some will help as well as give you wedding gifts. It is more a get together than a marriage which is enjoyed by all in a festive mood.
There is no true way to define a DIY wedding because each one is different. One thing that remains the same however is that a DIY wedding isn’t completed by the couple alone. It is impractical to think that friends and relatives will leave you alone in the stress of planning. A wedding is a very joyous ceremony and without help of others it is not possible to plan and pull one off smoothly.
