Why Get Married in Puerto Vallarta?
We’ve said it many times that Mexico is our favorite country for destination weddings. With its easy access from anywhere in the U.S, beautiful beaches, great service and lots of activities, it is the perfect destination wedding location. Mexico is big so we decided to help narrow down the choices for you by digging into some of our favorite Mexican cities in detail.
That’s where Puerto Vallarta comes in play. The locals are friendly, always smiling and speak great English. The old town charm is genuine and is miles away from the often maligned Mexican tourist town trap. A newly refurbished boardwalk along the ocean is perfect for a stroll and runs along shops, restaurants, and hotels. Speaking of hotel, the resorts in Puerto Vallarta are top notch and very modern which is great if you’re planning on having a destination wedding for guests who can be picky.
It Isn’t Just About Weddings In Puerto Vallarta
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Puerto Vallarta is just how many ‘non-wedding’ related activities are available to you and your guests. Beachside watercraft opportunities abound at most hotels, jet ski and boat rentals are available and dolphin and turtle tours are really fun. You can also take a more relaxed approach and take an evening walk along the beach where you’ll catch the sparkling city lights.
The heart of the historic downtown Puerto Vallarta is really unique, with museums and art galleries and the traditional Mexican buildings that reflect the culture so perfectly. The town is great during the day, but it really comes to life at night with local restaurants, bars and night clubs that are open to the wee hours.

Awesome All Inclusive Hotels
Our friends at the Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort (who have kindly sponsored this blog post) operated one of the most inviting and best rated hotels in the area. In the perfect location, the hotel has a gorgeous beach with all the water sports and activities you could ever want. Only ten minutes from the old town and five minutes from the Cruise Ship Terminal and Marina, it is situated perfectly to get out and enjoy all the other parts of Puerto Vallarta that make it unique amongst Mexican locations.
When we asked some guests who stayed at the Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort what they loved about their stay, they were pretty universal in their response. Hilton’s focus on the guest is the core of everything they do. As an all-inclusive hotel guests said they were pleasantly surprised that the team looked after them and was very attentive. The spacious rooms and breathtaking views of the ocean were also a big hit amongst guests. For guests who were lucky enough to be in the hotel’s elegant suites, they couldn’t stop raving about the private balcony overlooking the Bandera’s Bay or beautiful gardens.
Guests are able to stay active with a workout in the fitness center or jog some laps along the beach. For a more relaxing break, Spa Ki is perfect for getting the royal treatment with their various spa and beauty treatments.
Of course, no Puerto Vallarta trip is complete without having some amazing Mexican food and the Hilton Puerto Vallarta Resort doesn’t let you down with tasty international food and fresh local seafood at Sea Fire All Day Restaurant. There is even a top French restaurant that guests rave about. For those who prefer a liquid diet, poolside cocktails at The Beach Bar are always a wonderful afternoon treat
