Children at weddings could be both adorable and disastrous; this is why many couples think twice before inviting the kids of their friends at their nuptials. If you are dealing with this situation there are some things you should know, for a better development of your wedding ceremony and reception.

The first possibility would be not to invite the kids at your wedding reception; i.e. they may come at your day wedding ceremony, but they should miss your wedding party. In fact, I believe that many parents will agree with your idea, because they wouldn’t like their kids to stay up at those late hours. So, talk to your friends and explain this situation. I’m sure that they will understand you completely.
If you believe that your decision would hurt their feelings (there are some parents who might feel offended because it will seem like the presence of their kids would be unwanted) then you should invite the kids too. But, be prepared, because as you well know when children are together they really become unrecognizable and they tend to do even more follies.
Thus, you should consider the idea of introducing a craft table with stickers, coloured pencil and crayons, so that they could have something to do, when they will get bored. This will be a nice and thoughtful wedding centerpiece, which the others, especially the kids will appreciate and enjoy.
Also, a candy buffet will be something that will keep them busy. They will be so much preoccupied with those delicious sweets that you won’t even know that they are there. In this way you will be able to enjoy your party without being stressed by the fact that a kid may come from nowhere and knock down the table of your wedding cake.
In short, if you will invite kids at your wedding, you would better think about something that would keep them busy. A great idea would be if your wedding venue would have lobby too, where the kids could run and play together, while the adults will enjoy the wedding party. Thus, exclude all the negative parts that a kid could create at a wedding, by inserting the right centerpieces for them.
