Whether you’re going for a weekend abroad, staying in the UK, looking for an adventurous hen party or a more laid back vibe, there’s plenty of choice when it comes to choosing what to do so it’s simply a matter of choosing the right option for you. Here are Redseven we’ve picked some of our top ideas for the summer of 2013 to ensure you make the most of the hot weather…
Overseas
Cruise
If you’re heading overseas in search of hotter climates for your hen party then one of the most enjoyable ways to make the most of the sunshine is to book in for a catamaran cruise. Sitting out on the sun soaked deck of a catamaran looking out to the sea, a cocktail in hand and your best friends by your side – life doesn’t get much sweeter than that!
Water Park
If you want to do more than just sunbathe on the beach then head to a water park where you can enjoy the thrill of some massive slides, or for the more laid back amongst you enjoy drifting along the lazy river. There are plenty of water parks all over Europe, however if you’re on a hen weekend in Tenerife then you get to enjoy one of the biggest and most exciting in the world – Siam Park. The park boasts five world records, including the highest man-made wave in the world!
Surfing Lesson
If however you’d rather catch some real waves then head to the beach, in particular San Sebastian which is an ideal (and very picturesque) spot for surfing. Then, rather than just swooning over the handsome surfers have a go at surfing yourself! It’s not only great exercise, but also extremely fun to learn as to begin with you’ll be falling off a lot.
UK
Royal Ascot Races
Looking for a chic hen party idea? If so then why not throw on your favourite summer dresses and enjoy a day at the races. It’s the perfect opportunity to dress up for a sophisticated day out with the girls, have a few glasses of bubbly and of course maybe even win some money on the horses. One of the best things about going on Ladies’ Day though is going all out with an extravagant hat to turn heads!
Wake Boarding
If you’re the adventurous type and don’t mind making a splash then try your skills at wake boarding. Balanced on your wake board you’ll typically be pulled behind a speedboat at around 30–50 km/h, however some destinations also offer being pulled by an overhead cable over shallower water. If you’re on a Brighton hen do then make sure you pop down the seafront to enjoy this more alternative water sport and then dry off sat outside one of the many popular seafront bars.
Punting
There are few more enjoyable ways to properly relax on a summer’s day than punting down a river, the sun on your back and a glass of champagne in hand. If even that sounds too strenuous though then you have the option to be chauffeured so all you have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the views whilst the punter does all the strenuous work.
As you can see, planning a hen party in summer leaves you open to a wide variety of ideas no matter where you decide to celebrate. From relaxing cruises and days at the races, to making a splash at the water park or on a surfing lesson – there’s something to cater to all tastes guaranteeing that the summer of 2013 will be one you won’t forget and which the bride can look back on fondly.
