The groomsman are already planning the bachelor party 1 year, 4 months, 3 weeks from our wedding date. I thought they were just talking about it to get excited however they are booking this week. Can you please explain bachelor/bachelorette planning/scheduling etiquette? How far in advance is too far? Dont the invitations or at least “save the dates” need to go out? These guys are planning to have the Vegas bachelor party in September when the wedding is not until the following May. This is a bachelor party 7 months in advance. I believe it should be in the year of the wedding at least! If the wedding is the end of May I was thinking Feb/March/April would be the time to have a bachelor party. Please help explain the etiquette of planning a bachelor party in regards to timeline of the wedding planning. Thank you so much!

Yes, that’s much too early to host a bachelor party. A month or even two, maybe. But, if they want to book it 7 months in advance that’s up to them. They should be reminded that booking too far ahead of time might make the plans difficult to cancel if, say, someone drops out of the wedding or something similar.
