I will be walking my daughter down the aisle. The colors of the wedding are bridesmaids in coral (peach), males in grey suits and bride in ivory. Splashes of turquoise in the flowers etc. What color should I wear as the mother of the bride? My daughter suggested turquoise, but I just feel like I would really be standing out in that color. What are my options with that color pallatte of coral, grey and turquoise?

Dear Mother of the Bride:
I agree with you, that the color teal, although a lovely complement to peach, gray and ivory, is far too deep and eye catching a color to wear with these bridal party “pastels.” Eyes would go directly upon you instead of the bride.
BUT — A gray-toned teal (muted) would be terrific. Also a darker gray for you with teal or deep peach accent??? (if it compliments YOUR skin tones).
I have attached a color chart for reference. Although all monitors are not created equal, I hope this gives you an idea. I have included their standard, computer hexadecimal numbers for further assistance. Congratulations! Enjoy your very special day!

I also like the idea of Teal or peacock blue. Or, maybe a silver grey or pale gold.

Agreed! I also agree with and love Ann’s suggestions for silver or pale gold. 🙂

Thank you. The bridesmaids will be in coral (more of a deeper peach color rather than pastel). I was trying to go with a deep gray color for my mother of the bride dress but just can’t find anything in that color. (I need the deeper colors due to my skin tone). I have found a plum purple dress (link attached) that looks very good on me. Do you think this color would work with the coral and gray?

The plumb is lovely and if it makes YOU and your daughter happy … then there is no “Right” or “Wrong” here. I’ve often combined tangerine & Lilac……. a similar tonal combination.
