I would like to purchase a gift for our future daughter-in-law to welcome her into our family. She is marrying our son (only child) and I would like to do something special for her. I would also like to say the perfect thing with the gift. Any ideas?

Aww, that is so sweet.
It’s often difficult to make suggestions for gifts because you really have to know the recipient and the relationship. But, as a daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law I can say that I’d be happy to receive or give a piece of framed poetry or a special photo of the two of you (or the family, or your son as a child, etc). Consider writing a special note telling her how you feel. I’d say that as long as you consider her personality and your special relationship, you’ll choose a great gift. You can never go wrong when you give from the heart.
Lucky daughter-on-law, lucky mom!

Great advice Your Highness. I collect and give figurines that tell your feelings. I have a Snowbaby that is playing hockey to represent my 15 year old granddaughter. I also have one that has a cat laying on top of my computer monitor (when they were big desktop) that represents my Felix who used to lay there and swat at the mouse movements. Give yourself some time to search for the right gift and it will give back for years to come.
