I have an indoor June wedding planned and I would like to pick my makeup, but need guidance. My main concerns are my extremely oily skin and getting a natural but special look for my day. I have medium skin, dark blonde hair, green/hazel eyes. My eyes are probably my strongest feature, so I really want them to stand out without too much complication in my beauty routine. My oily skin and large pores are a concern too. I have extremely oily skin and don’t want to have a lot of shine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Start taking care of your oily skin now, with absorbing masks. That will reduce the oiliness of the skin. The day of the wedding, you can use a primer before applying foundation, to reduce visibility of the pores. I suggest you use mineral foundation for best results. When your makeup is finished, spray your face with Model in a Bottle makeup setting spray. That will make your makeup stay put for hours. Also, don’t be afraid to use Translucent Powder throughout the day, to eliminate shine. Enjoy your wedding!

Thank you so much! I purchased some primer for oily skin from Sephora yesterday and tried it out today. It seemed to help quite a bit. I’ve heard of the Model in a Bottle and will purchase this too! Thank you again! Any suggestions on makeup for eyes, cheeks, lips would be great also!

Eyes: use professional-grade eye shadow base before applying eye shadows, to make sure they will stay put and won’t go into creases. Cheeks: dry blush only; avoid cream blush at all costs! Lips: Use lip liner to outline your lips and to keep lipstick in place; then apply lipstick and if desired – lip gloss. Make sure lip gloss stays in the middle of the lip and doesn’t go out to the lip liner: it tends to melt the lip liner and “bleed” around the contour. Don’t forget the powder and enjoy your wedding!
