I am to be a guest at a destination wedding (beach) this month. The ceremony is close to noon and there is a luncheon immediately following–scheduled until 4-ish, I think. There is a second reception in the evening (8-ish, I think?) at a casual beach bar/restaurant. What kind of dress is appropriate for each event? Is it okay to wear the same thing to both, or is a change of clothing appropriate?

Dear Guest,
Typically for a beach wedding and luncheon reception the attire would be more casual, such as Dressy Casual, (the attire you would wear to a nice restaurant).
For the evening reception, Evening Resort Attire may be more appropriate. Here is an excerpt from my booklet, Proper Attire for All Occasions:
Evening Resort Attire
· This is very similar to what we would feel comfortable wearing to a country club in the evening. Slacks and a nice shirt (jacket optional) for men and a dress or classy separates are perfect for women.
· Please do not wear flip-flops, tank tops, shorts, t-shirts, or reveal too much skin.
Best wishes,
