I just attended a wedding and wonder whose name appears first on a wedding favor? The female or male?

Dear SG:
As a matter of tradition, women and children go first in shipwrecks, fires and yes, monograms and wedding favor tags. It’s one of those delicious outshoots of chivalry we see preserved in the changing of the guard in the forecourt of Buckingham palace and weddings.
Still, this being the (post-) modern age, you don’t have to subscribe to tradition. You could put him first if his name is Andy and yours is Zoe, for example.
But given that men still make more than women for doing the same jobs, isn’t a little chivalry in order?
